Day 16
Lewisporte to Gander through Twillingate
Drove 145 miles today. Got a late start. The motorcycle had an electrical failure. The battery cable came loose, so the owner of the B&B helped Dennis fix that and caulked around the taillight of the trailer to stop a leak. That was SO nice!
Great weather again until late afternoon storms started to gather.
We drove to a small village called Twillingate which has a great lighthouse and spectacular views. Wish you could see the scale from the photo. The lighthouse park had a Titanic exhibit for the 100th anniversary of the tragedy. Was very interesting.
Then we drove on to Gander and got a room. They have an aviation museum here that we plan to see tomorrow.
What a great trip you are having!! Wish we were with you. It is fun to read and see your trip this way by blogging. Gander has so much history as so does all of Newfoundland. It was one of best trips we had, and one that few Americans and even Canadians are aware of -- so it still isn't spoiled. Glad you are experiencing how nice people are there. We look forward to seeing all your pictures and hearing all your stories. Will want to know what are your favorite places. Have fun in St. John's!! Love Jim and Gigi
